I run a small homelab, basically a few simple servers running various software. Partly to test out various
technologies, partly to self-host interesting and useful services. I use small, low-power desktop PCs running Proxmox
as the hypervisor, this is a Linux distribution based on Debian with native support for LXC containers and for KVM
virtual machines. Most services run in containers, either LXC or Docker.
Services:
- OPNSense - Open-source firewall, uses CrowdSec for extra security.
- PiHole - network-wide ad blocking and local DNS.
- Heimdahl - simple dashboard for quick access to services.
- HomeAssistant - open-source software for managing smart home devices.
- Caddy - a simple reverse-proxy.
- DokuWiki - documentation for my home IT needs.
- Portainer - simple managment of Docker containers.
- Uptime-kuma - monitoring of websites and services.
- Whoogle - private search engine - basically gives you filtered Google results.
- Vikunja - self-hosted to-do app.
- Gitea - self-hosted Git server.
- Fireshare - self-hosted video hosting and sharing (think private YouTube).
- Pingvin share - self-hosted file sharing (think WeTransfer).
